The first taste of Dirty Projectors upcoming, untitled album has shown up. While the group’s previous effort, Bitte Orca, was filled with crazy, Zappa-like guitar, that’s all gone here. The focus of “The Gun Has No Trigger” are Dave Longstreth’s vocals and there’s also more focus on the lyrics. Musically, the song has a very bass heavy sound that sounds like a great hip-hop beat and the backing vocals are as astounding as always. While this is quite different, and typical compared to their previous work. I’m really loving the groove and mood of this song.
