TWIN SHADOW- CONFESS

Twin Shadow’s new album, Confess, is another album that takes song after song from 80′s pop. Song after song there’s everything from The Bangles to The Cure to Morrissey on Confess. While this album works better than his previous, and his voice is much better here, there’s too much attention to “love” songs and Twin Shadow’s “bad boy” image. The album comes off as dishonest, with all of it’s clean production and album art.

SERJ TANKIAN- HARAKIRI

System of a Down put out two of the best metal albums of the 00′s and I was hesitant to listen to lead singer, Serj Tankian’s new album. Harakiri still has plenty of political songs and obscure lyrics, but Tankian sounds stuck without his System of a Down bandmates. Most of Harakiri sounds too much like a System of a Down copy, and it never pull out anything as captivating as those early records.
