Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros- “Man on Fire” TRACK REVIEW

Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros have put out a new track and it’s pretty close to what I was expecting from this outfit. “Man on Fire” is filled with sixties sounds and the hippie folk aspect is still here. While nothing hit me on their other record, and this new track is still going around the same sound, it’s very enjoyable.

“Man on Fire” starts off odd with some yelping background vocals that really distract. But then the track switches it up and the chorus is very bright and warm. Then it switches  again with a poorly produced midsection where all sorts of guitars show up and could have created something cool if it wasn’t for the compression on the track.

“Man on Fire” isn’t blowing me away, but it’s a very good track and makes me want to listen to their new album, Here.

Rating: 6 out of 10.
